The Keikahanui Nuku Hiva Pearl Lodge overlooks the bay and village of Taiohae. Transfer from the airport takes two hours by 4WD or seven minutes by helicopter followed by a five minute 4WD drive to the hotel. The Hotel offers 12 deluxe and eight premium bungalows all with views and air-conditioning. The bungalows are built with local materials and each features carvings by a different artist. The restaurant and bar open onto the terrace and pool. It is just 50 steps from here to the black sand beach. There are many soft adventure activities available, or relax in the tropical foliage while enjoying a candlelit dinner under the stars.
