General Rental Conditions 1. Minimum rental period of 3 days. 2. The minimum driver’s age is 21 years and a current valid driver’s license must be presented. 3. Fuel is at renter’s expense and vehicles should be returned with a full tank of gas. 4. A rental day is calculated on a 24 hour basis. 5. Multiple rentals can be combined to qualify for a longer term rental rate, if travel is within 3 month period. Rentals in New Zealand and Australia can be combined. 6. Rentals of 10 days or longer get a free ferry crossing for your vehicle. 7. $12 per rental + GST surcharge applies to all rentals commencing or terminating at Queenstown airport (paid directly to Maui). 8. All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The renter is responsible for the first NZ$1,800 ("the excess") of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windshield and tire damage, overhead and underbody damage, towing and recovery costs. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. This NZ$1800 excess can usually be reduced by the purchase of the Excess Reduction Option. Excess Reduction Option is $19NZD per day (max charge NZ$570) will reduce the excess for third party property or to the rented vehicle to NZ$220. 9. On collection of the vehicle, a Vehicle Security Deposit is payable. If you do not take the Excess Reduction Option, the Security Deposit is NZ$1800.
