We offer a wide selection of vehicles from economical hatch-backs to large 4WDs, with depots located throughout New Zealand in major towns, leisure centers, airports and ferry terminals. Complimentary touring maps are available to all renters. Hertz rents only the latest model vehicles, each meticulously maintained between rentals.

DRIVING REGULATIONS Minimum rental age: 21 years – Exception: 25 years for car groups L and M. Renters must present a valid driver’s licence.

DEPOSITS All rentals are subject to a deposit which covers additional costs such as fuel, insurance and optional services. Hertz accepts all major credit cards.

OPTIONAL SERVICES Each rental is subject to Accident Damage Excess (ADE) which may be reduced by purchasing Accident Excess Reduction (AER).

RENTAL PERIOD Rental days consist of 24 consecutive hours with the minimum rental period being 1 day. For rentals covering both islands, i.e., Multi Island or Continuous rentals, there must be a minimum 3-day rental on one island.

ONE WAY RENTALS For one way rentals between North and South Islands, cars cannot be taken on the interisland ferry. Renters must leave their rental vehicle on one island and collect another rental vehicle on the next island.
The first rental must be a minimum of three days and subsequent rentals must be picked up within 5 hours of returning the previous rental.

CONDITIONS GROUPS B-H, J & K: 1 and 2 day rentals will incur a one way fee of NZ$150.00 inc GST. For rentals of 3 days or more there is no one way fee applicable. GROUP M: Only available for rentals between a) Auckland–Wellington and b) Christchurch–Queenstown. 1 and 2 day rentals will incur a one way fee of NZ$150.00 inc GST. For rentals of 3 days or more there is no one way fee.

AIRPORT CONCESSION FEE RECOVERY/FERRY TERMINAL FEE RECOVERY
Airport Concession/Ferry Terminal Fee Recovery is applicable at all Airport Locations and Ferry Terminals. The current charge is NZ$18 plus GST per rental. Hertz reserves the right to change this rate at any time. For Multi Island and Continuous Rentals the Fee will apply at each point of collection.

DAMAGE EXCESS
Rentals are subject to an Accident Damages Excess (ADE). With the purchase of Accident Excess Reduction (AER) the Accident Damages Excess is reduced to nil.

Note: Hertz reserves the right to change the Accident Excess Reduction (AER) with 30 days notice in writing.
