The Indian Pacific gives you two oceans on one of the world’s
longest train journeys coast to coast across this vast continent.
The journey from Sydney (Pacific Ocean) to Perth (Indian Ocean)
departs twice weekly with scheduled stops at Broken Hill,
Adelaide and gold-rich Kalgoorlie. On this great train journey
you’ll spend 2 nights between Adelaide & Perth,
or 3 nights coast to coast.
Day 1 Arrive Adelaide
Arrive Adelaide and transfer to your hotel, rest of the day
is at leisure. Accommodation: Adelaide,
Radisson Playford Hotel for two nights.
Day 2 Barossa Valley Experience
Departing Adelaide you will spend the morning admiring breathtaking
backdrops and panoramic views on our way to the Barossa Valley.
Lunch is taken at an old villa set back from the road as you
wander among the vineyards and wineries sampling the famous
wines of the region (B,L)
Day 3 Indian Pacific –
Adelaide
Morning at leisure. This afternoon transfer to the train station
to board the Indian Pacific. Enjoy dinner as you travel through
the Adelaide Plains, past the Spencer Gulf and the Southern
Flinders Ranges. (B,D) Accommodation:
Indian Pacific, Gold Kangaroo Service for two nights.
Day 4 Indian Pacific
As the day progresses the salt lake country gives way to the
desolate Nullarbor Plain. By evening you will have reached
Kalgoorlie, site of the world’s largest open cut gold
mine. (B,L,D)
Day 5 Arrive Perth
Enjoy an early breakfast before arriving in Perth this morning.
